This is the easiest lower-Himachal loop to fit into a long weekend. Solan and Kasauli sit at a lower altitude, so the trip stays comfortable almost all year, and Shimla is added at the end for the classic Mall Road and toy-train-town experience.
Roads on this route are shorter and gentler than a Shimla-Manali trip, which makes it a good first hill trip for families with young children or elderly parents.
